So my reason for the bottles subject is this. When we were at the doctor for our 12 mos. check-up we talked about the bottle. First I want to tell you about a relative that has given us the will to get rid of the bottle as soon as we can. Our nephew turned 3 this last March. At Kaylee's 6mos check up the doctor told us to start transitioning her to a sippy cup. Which I guess I didn't find hard. Because her cousin (who was 3) was still sucking on a bottle. About a month ago we heard that he was supposedly off the bottle completely. Not true. A week before Kaylee's 1st b-day we found out he just got off the bottle. Kaylee has only been getting a bottle before bed since she was 6 mos old. So at our 12 mos check the doctor told me she wants the bottle gone by 15 mos.. Her doctor appt was the 31st of Aug. We are going on a week of absolutely no bottle. It has been a breeze of a transition. Don't get me wrong we still have a pacifier though. That I think is going to be a hard one to get rid of. We are trying to only use it for naps and bedtime though.

Transitioning, oh fun. I haven't done this first hand since I'm not a mom, but I've been through it second hand with my nephew, friend's kids, and my youngest sister, lol. Sounds like it's coming along, hope it continues smoothly:) Thank you, by the way, for your prayers for my honey's safe return! It really means a lot. LOL, like you said, probably not too much posting next week, but I will try to get the reunion photos up. Thank your brothers for their service as well! Have a great week!
I am also trying to ween my little guy off of the bottle. He is doing well, except for the bedtime bottle. Good luck! By the way, you did a very nice job on Kaylee's b-day cakes. Happy Belated birthday to Kaylee!
Thank you Miah. Those cakes took alot out of me, but it was worth it. She will be able to say when she was older that my mom took the time to make them.
The bottle: keep trying it will get easier as time passes. If you want just think of my nephew when you are having a hard time. If you have a hard time. And like I said my struggle I think is going to be the pacy. FUN!
Dawn
Hey Dawn! Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Kaylee is adorable. Happy 1st Birthday to her and great job on the cakes!!
We took away the bottle right at 15 months. At first it was hard, but it's been almost a month now, and Alec has been doing fine without it. Babies move on quickly!
Feel free to stop by (and comment!) on my blog!!
Have a great week!
Oh what a topic! We were really scared about this step. He was over a year before we took it away completely. He cried the first night, but then I tried a new "routine". I sat on the couch instead of the chair after his bath and we read a book. It seemed to do the trick! He started out SCREAMING! It was harder on me than him I think, but he is good as gold know. No problems. It is a hard one though. Trying to make sure he drinks enough! Makes me nervous!
