Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system। He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
Yah!!!!!!!!! Half way mark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pink or Blue
So today was the big day. Are you all as anxious as we were! Let's start with a few different views.
Here is a view of the baby's foot!
Here is a side profile! Anxiously waiting are you!
Another side profile just closer up! Am I driving anyone nuts yet!
So like I said my husband was positive it was a boy. He has called it a boy from day one. Which I thought was kinda ballsy. Because I didn't want him to get his hopes up so high that he was very disappointed. He told me that he would be disappointed for a short while but if it was another girl he was okay with that. The last two days we have asked Kaylee if she wants a baby brother or sister. Usually she will say whatever you said last. So this time she said baby brother. We asked brother or sister and then sister or brother and her response was baby brother both times. I don't know if she really knows what that means but it is cute that is for sure. Oh was I suppose to be announcing something. That is right I was going to announce if we will be keeping pink or buying blue!
Well the verdict is in and............................................................................................................................................................................................................
We will be buying BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Andrew Joseph aka AJ will be joining our family the end of March or very beginning of April. Let's just say that my husband is very happy. THe baby is doing very good. He is growing good. His arms and legs are actually 95%tile for his gestational age. My dr said that is tall. Well for those of you that don't know us well my husband is 6ft 4in, his older brother is 6ft 6in, his younger brother is 6ft 10in, his dad is his height and his mom is 5ft 8in. So nobody is short in his family. And Kaylee has always been 75%tile for her height. So now I get to go through all of kaylee's older clothes find the one's that I want for keepsakes and then find someone to buy them or take them to a consignment shop so we can start getting a blue wardrobe. So there you have it. The big news for the day!

Baby at 19 weeks
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Baby at 18 weeks.
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
A week from today is all we have left. To find out the gender that is. I am about crawling out of my skin at this point. I want it to be here so bad. And to see the baby again is just as exciting. And then to know I am half way through this pregnancy. The anticipation is driving me nuts. I hope this week and weekend goes by fast.

Baby at 16 weeks and update.
So I missed a week. Sorry. It has been busy with work and finding time to sleep. I did have a dr's appt this week. Nothing exciting other than got to hear the heart beat of course. It was 174 at the last appointment and this week we were in the 150's. I was really surprised. Maybe there is something to the wives tale. Kaylee stayed high until she started running out of room. This one started out high but I am surprised we have gone down to 150 already. Who knows maybe it will be a boy. Hopefully for my husbands sake it is. He has said no matter what we get we are done. We will see when we find out what it is. He is positive it is a boy. Mainly cause I have been sicker with this pregnancy. Well I know that doesn't make a difference. And he thinks because I am so tired. Well let's see I have a 2 year old and work, kinda makes a difference. I can't just take a nap whenever I want like I did with the first one.
We had some issues with names. We have had a boy name picked out since we got married. So I wanted to pick a girl name. Well he wouldn't agree with me on one. One nite I was asking him about names. He said no to all of them. I said you have to like one. He said he didn't. I finally started to get frustrated and said you have to pick out a name. His response was "no I don't cause it is a boy" and "god wouldn't make me live with 3 women" I laughed in his face. I said just for that comment he probably will make you live with 3 women. So I narrowed it down to 2 names and told him you pick one now or I will pick one and you won't get a say in it at all. He finally picked one. MEN!
I am going to refrain from telling the name on here for now. We have told some people. It really isn't a secret I just want to wait and say the name when we find the gender out. Which will be Nov. 10th as long as this baby cooperates. So that is what has been going on lately. I am starting to feel it move more too. Which I am so relieved when I do feel it. But I guess before I right a book. Below is the weekly development so until next week.
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Baby at 14 weeks!
Yeah 2nd trimester!!!!!!
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Baby at 13 weeks.
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Baby Update
I had a dr appt yesterday. Everything is going good. The baby's heart rate was 174. I have my 20 week ultrasound scheduled. So hopefully the baby cooperates and on Nov 10th we will find out what we are having. Then I can either start going through all the stuff I saved from my daughter or start getting rid of all the stuff I saved and get boy stuff. And it will be hard to believe that the end of that week I will be half way through my pregnancy. It is going fast I think. I am sure there will come a point when it will drag. But anyways. Everything going good as of now.

Baby at 12 weeks
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Happy Birthday on the 11th
Happy Belated Birthday Grandpa L. Sorry we didn't get a wish to you yesterday. Kaylee was a sick little girl. Hope your day was as wonderful as could be during the week. We love you!

Baby at 11 weeks.
How your baby's growing:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

Baby Update!
We had our follow-up ultrasound yesterday. It was good. The baby's heart rate was 174 the first time she checked and 173 the second time. So that is alot better. The cutoff for to high is 180. They don't like to see it there or above. So it was probably cause it was an early ultrasound. So that was good to see. The ultrasound tech that did it this time was alot better. I told her I wasn't happy the last time. Cause she did it so fast we didn't hardly get to see the baby move. She checked alot more of the baby this time than the last gal did. Right at the end of it she switched to 3D but it didn't work cause the baby started moving. It slept through the first part. Go figure it didn't want us to see it 3D. So I am relieved. I have another appointment the end of the month. I will actually get to see my doctor. I have had to see her PA's cause our schedules don't mesh. So it will be nice to acutally get to see her. So everything is going good. I even think I feel it move already. I know it seems early but they did say since it is my second pregnancy that I know what to expect it to feel like. Unlike the first pregnancy. She did say I would possibly be able to feel it alot earlier than the last one. So that is cool. So that is what I got for updates. I will post my weekly development on thursday. Hope all have a good week. I work tonite thru thursday nite. Long week.

Baby's weekly development.
I am going to try something. Every week I get a email on growth and development of the baby. I thought you all would think it is neat to read the progress too. So hopefully I won't let you all down and keep you updated every week. It is interesting to read what is happening to this wonderful miracle.
What baby is doing at 10 weeks!
Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.
He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

Baby news!
I got a phone call from my docotors office yesterday. They have the perinatoligist read the ultrasounds. He recommended a follow-up ultrasound. The reason is the baby's heart rate was 181. My dr isn't worried. She attributes it to being early. But since they recommended it we are doing it. So monday morning we have another ultrasound. I am a little worried but I think it will be okay. When I was pregnant with my daughter I know in the beginning of my pregnancy her heart rate was 176 highest. As I got farther along it came down to the 140-150 range. So I guess we will see what happens on Monday.

Big News!
So I feel I can tell everyone now. We are announcing it at Kaylee's b-day party later today. So I think it is safe to put it on here now too. I don't think anyone will see my family or friends before 5pm to spoil the surprise. I told you awhile back that there was big news. So here it is;
We are having our second baby. I am 9weeks along. We had an ultrasound on Kaylee's actual b-day on Thurs. I know I have posted anything about that either. I haven't been feeling the greatest to sit and do this. But everything looks good. The heart rate was 180 and the baby looks good. Even though it still is in alien stage. I will have another ultrasound at 20 weeks. Other than not feeling the greatest I am doing good. I wasn't sick feeling like this with Kaylee. My husband thinks that means his boy. I guess we will see. I put a baby timer on my blog but it is at the bottom I couldn't get it to fit at the top right. So that is the big news in our household. And we have a terrible two year old. I don't know what it is but her b-day a switch turned on to extrememly naughty. I hope it is short lived. I will post more of her b-day and how we announced it after the party.

Busy Busy Busy
So the next week is going to be so so busy I think I will probably end up losing my mind. I can see it already. I work the next four nites in a row. Have one nite off then work Wed nite. When I get off work Thursday morning I don't get to go home and sleep I get to stay awake for 2 doctor appointments in the morning. Then I still don't get to go home and go to sleep. I have to find time to spare until the afternoon until another appointment. I then get to go home and by then I will probably crash. Then Friday and Saturday I will be getting ready for Kaylee's b-day party. I am getting excited for that though. So that is what is upcoming for us. If I don't get any posting the next week that is why. I will for sure post after the party.

Sorry!
I was doing so good I know. About posting I mean. We have been so busy the last couple weeks. Visting a new addition to the family. And then every other weekend I have to work so that makes the weeks go by fast. Next month is looking even busier. Next weekend I have a baby shower to go to. The weekend after that I work. The weekend after that is my brother and his new brides reception. The weekend after that I work. The weekend after that is Kaylee's b-day party and I work part of that weekend cause it is my holiday to work. I am hoping Sept finally slows down. Who knows if it will be I can dream. So other than that things are good. There are some things coming up in the future that are fun. Some changes in the future. So there is some hope for better posting. Stay tuned!
